Went to charge the battery on my '97 Road King a couple of weeks ago and found that I couldn't get the front part of the seat off. Fortunately the good girl started, but I need to figure out what the problem is...
Basically, i got one of the studs out, but the other started to turn then went really tight. I tried to turn it back in, but not much joy. Gently turning it back and forth in the hope it would free off only resulted in something (?) obviously giving up, and now the stud and (I suspect) whatever it screws into are both turning, albeit with some resistance. Now I can't get the stud in or out.
look at the otherside and see what is "turning" and see if you can reach it in anyway. if not, you will probably have to drill it out. If you have to drill, you should be able to do it with out damage to the seat and only have to replace the bolt. FWIT i think you should be able to get to the back side with a little work.
