Default Help - clutch problem

I swapped out my stock bars today and replaced the stock clutch cable with the one kromewerks called for. Swap went OK and when I was done I adjusted the clutch per the service manual. I jumped on the bike started it up and put it in gear and nothing, revved it up a bit and still the bike felt like it was in nuetral. I pulled the inspection cover again and checked the clutch adjustment and it seems like it is adjusted just like the manual says, it's pretty idiot proof. Checked again and still like it's not engaging in gear. The clutch cable seemed a little tight but since it was the part number called for I went with it. What the heck could be the problem?

Ball and ramp assembly in the tranny not seated properly. Do you have the 300515's? What cable did you use?

Yup I have the 200515's and used OEM #38649-98 cable. Unfortunately this was a user error mistake. I found out what I did wrong and corrected it. Read the service manual a little too literally so I guess it isn't idiot proof. All fixed, sorry for the stupid question.

For an 09 you should have used 38649-08 not the -98 cable.

38649-98 for up to 07 models
38649-07 for 07 models
38649-08 for 08 and later models

I'd change it out to the correct one.

Since everything fit Ok and everything works fine now, what's the difference? I would really hate to go thru this again if the diferences are miniscule. Everything looked the same as the stock one except the length.
