I will be at full throttle for the horse bike show,after lunch Monday 3rd. My wife loves the rat bikes and it's her birthday, so what the hell.

Gee and I am having apprehension to ride 120 miles alone to Hutchinson Island Friday to meet up with my wife !!!

Just got back last night from a 9 day ride there... spent three days in the area.... wanted to enjoy the roads without the crowds.... Great weather... Not one drop of rain.. highs around 84, blue skys with the good ole puffy clouds. My fist time in the black hills... loved Iron Mountain road and needles Highway...

Got to answer an age old question,,,lol

Can a Harley sitting still engine running out run a charging 2000 pound Bison/Buffalo from about 30 feet????????????/

Answer - Just barely - with the wife hitting my back yelling FASTER<FASTER??


We were in Custer Park and just came around a corner and I saw a really nice BIG Bison walking up to a creek to get a drink - I agree now he was just too close to the road... Wife said, Don't stop, he is too close... What the hell do women know about these things????lol Anyway, I pulled over, left engine running and pulled out the camera,,, got the shot but just as I took the pic,,, he turned and looked right at me... I then relized, I just may be pissing him off.. Put the camera away and just as I put the bike in gear (I was watching him) he dropped his head and charged us from the right.... I pulled away with him right on my ***.. Let me tell you, they can run fast as hell for a short distance...lol..

I have seen lots of Bison in Yellow Stone and on this trip... This is the fist I have seen that dropped his head and charged.... I learned my lesson... Keep your distance... This all turned out fine and we had a good laugh after I pulled my underwear out of my butt.... Had I been just a moment slower, it would have NOT been a pretty picture...
