i like the tbw, it works, and doesn't **** me off. what more could you ask of a system? an added bonus is that the cruise control works seamlessly. i'm impressed. 08' touring as well as the 09's touring have throttle by wire.
My '09 SG has had no problems. At all. The only issue I am aware of with the TBW is with the '08's getting the idle reset by those who did not allow the bike to return to idle before shutting it off. This was fixed with a software upgrade. It is a good system and a good idea.
TBW, like ABS and EFI have all been around for years and proven their reliability in probably hundreds of billions of miles of use in cars. I have all three in my '08 and have zero complaints. I love how easy it is to change grips without messing with the throttle cables.

All seriousness aside... I have an 09 FLHX and my TBW has been seamless. I love this system for its integration with the cruise control and the fact that there isn't a direct pathway for vibes to be transmitted to the right handgrip.
