Is there a default security code when the security system is first installed? I took my first ride last night since buying the bike new... well low and behold I left both keys and fops at home in the garage on the tool bench. Well got 20 miles from home, turned the bike off and instantly thought oh shiit Lesson learned! In all my excitement to leave the dealer Wednesday and to ride last night... I don't know the code but at least I had my owners manual with me so I could put the code in, that I didn't know
I think it is all 1's ....111111 as many as it takes .@ least that was what they told me when I got mine .Good Luck , why not call the HD where you bought it or any HD .?
Usually that's one of the big things with the new bike walk through that every dealer does with a buyer. It doesn't matter if it's your first bike or 21st bike. The key fob I.D. and the security code.
Unfortunatley, there has been a couple of people that have come here and tried to get some info on it after they've aquired a stolen bike. Usually from a European country claiming that his english isn't so great and needs the code (so they claim).
You can understand why people are a little gun shy about releasing the code on the internet.
I can also see how, maybe some dealers do not go through the walk through, or in a new buyers excietment, aren't paying attention. If it's used, and the previous owner changed it, you'll have to get it to a dealer to reset it. If it's new, a call to the salesman that sold it to you will be able to walk you through it.
No malice intended. I think you understand.
BTW..... you should change your code to your own once you figure it out. More than once a fob has been lost on the road or a battery has gone dead. You wouldn't believe how many new riders bikes I've started just to show them. They're pretty surprised.

It's a 2009 Ultra that I bought Wednesday... No biggee! I have the fobs and according the owners manual I can change the code without knowing the current code... Thanks guys. It was kinda of a funny thing happened "1st ride on the new bike..." story more than it was a real???
My riding buddy drove me home in his dad's Miata to get my key and fob... Kinda sucked and was slightly embarrassing at the time...
The code is programmed by the dealer during PDI. The fobs are not programmed to the bike from the factory and the pin has to be changed for the security system to operate since the factory code is invalid.
first digit was 1 and the last was 9... no default code of 11111 lol. hey lesson learned. I changed the code and have the comfort of knowing it works b/c I tried it several times after I changed it. I also have the comfort of knowing I want be stranded ever again even if I loose or foget my fob; lol. thanks guys!
I swear I don't recall them telling me the exact code; only that I should change it and write down my new code... Wednesday was a blur. I was soooo excited to get my new bike...
