Ok...need some help. Have a sundowner on my 09 rg. Better than pos stock seat but not by much. Hear so many +'s and -'s on corbin, mustang, etc. Not sure what to do. Have talked with mean city but not a lot of options on sundowner pan. I am 6'1" and 275 with 34 inseam. Anybody try the new hammock seat (fugly) or a zeppelin seat. I see where hd has finally come out with a zeppelin for the 09's but 700 bills. Ouch!!! Want to make sure before i drop a lot of scoots on a seat that isn't right. Seems this is the eternal question with these bikes.....ride safe and thanks in advance for your imput...
I have the Mustang Touring One Piece. It has lots of comfortable seating space including the passenger pillion but it does move you 1" forward and 1 " up, which for you should be no problem. I have a detachable chopped tour pak and with the Mustang seat it looks good. I also have a HD low profile leather seat that I use when I don't need the tour pak so I change back and forth depending on my need.
Sparky,
I had a Road-Zeppelin on my '07 Ultra and absolutely loved the seat! At the touch of a button (or two or three, since the seat has 3 separate zones), you can change the seats feel. Long rides are very easy with the Road-Zeppelin.
Two items that MUST be mentioned:
1) The Road-Zeppelin WILL raise you up approx. 1-1/2" above the stock seating position.
2) The seat is not cheap, but well worth the $ if you want to do a lot of long distance riding and have an infinite adustability.
Mean City Cycles does do EXCELLENT work and Allen/Brent are definitely men of their word in that they are FIRM in making sure the customer is happy with the work they've done.
For your situation, I think the Road Zeppelin seat may be more to your needs. The "Hammock" seat is the one they put on the SE bike and while it 'sounds' cool, I would be concerned with durability of the 'hammock' support material.
