This is one of those worthless posts that does nothing but satisfy one's curiosity.
I am on my 10th motorcycle, the first 4 being Hondas and the next 5 being BMW's with #10 being a 2009 Harley. I guess it just took me a while to cross over but I must say I am one happy camper and REALLY enjoying this bike. At this point in my life this is definitely the bike for me but it certainly costs a lot to do everything you want to do to the bike to make it yours. I am enjoying every minute I ride and every dollar I spend. Just finished writing my will and it is pretty simple - "Being of sound mind and good judgement I leave nothing to anyone as I spent every damn dime on my favorite bike."
How many Harleys have you owned and over what time period?
Four in the last ten years, the most recent being an '08 Ultra.
13 Harleys here since I bought my first one in December 1992. I like to chrome them out, custom paint most of them and then my wife says I lose interest in them. I guessed based on my # of bikes, she may be onto something !!
Started in 1968 on a 650 BSA Lightening.
I've had Triumph's, Norton's, Honda's, Kawasaki's, BMW's and 5 Harley's.
I currently have a 2007 Ultra Classic and it's the best bike I've ever had.
I don't know if it will be the last.
5 bikes, 5 H-D. First one at the age of 20.
91 Softail Custom I sold in 99 to get a 00 Fat Boy which I then sold to get a 04 Road King which I traded in on my 09 Street Glide. Also picked up a wrecked 00 FXD I am currently rebuilding.
To many metrics to count, but over the last month and a half, I have purchased 2 Harleys 09 Utlra, and 06 Heritage. Right now riding anything else just does sound that fun.
Just got my first Harley a few months ago (2004 Road King Custom). Total 11 bikes so far (including dirt bikes)...currently have 2 bikes (the Road King and a Triumph Speed Triple). So far I'm really enjoying the bike and look forward to more touring. I plan to keep the bike for quite a few years. I do suspect I'll try other things in the future though (perhaps keeping the/a Harley too...but that will depend on pricing, etc.). In my opinion a man really needs a minimum of 4 bikes.... a touring bike, a standard 'city bike' (supermotard would be perfect), sport/track bike, and a dirt bike ...now I just need to win that lotto
Started out on a '72 CB350 Honda, have owned 13 bikes since, still have 9 of 'em. 3 Harleys, 3 Indians (real), 2 Yamahas, 3 Hondas, 1 Triumph & 1 Suzuki.
