I've had 2 family members (husband and wife) and 2 close friends (also husband and wife) killed by drunks in the last 7 years. I have no sympathy for them.
I love to drink...I just choose to do it at home...or I severely limit it when I am out.

So your Ok with him getting off if he was just drunk because you drink also??? But because you dont smoke pot and he did he should get life in prision?? Drinking and driving is still against the law last time I checked.

THC stays in the body quite a few days, so he might not have been high on pot at the time. I don't drink much so I say hang him. Also if he's a republican he should be shot first. And if he doesn't go to my church, the hell with him. Ooops, I digress.
VERY little is my guess. It was his first offense, the traffic light wasn't the right shade of yellow, his mommy didn't give him enough hugs when he was a child-so he had to drink the pain away, the rider deserved it because we bikers are such "bad" people, and the old favorite, "I didn't see him". Yeah, anything to excuse these idiots from their actions. Tell me the punishment wouldn't vary GREATLY if said moron killed a child on a bicycle instead of a responsible adult (notice he was slowing for the yellow light) on a motorcycle.
Stick him in a beach chair, set him on the tracks and let a cross-country Amtrak take a swipe at him. After that he can have probation.
Being a former drunk, I know this could of happend to me in the past and I thank god that it did not. Being sober for almost 2 years now has changed my view on a lot of things in life and I only say this to preface this next statement. Do you realize that he only had a BAC of a little over .08? Up until a couple of years ago in many states that was still legal and if memory serves me right I think it is still legal in afew states as of right now. I know that it used to be .10 in mass not that long ago which means he would of gotten off on that charge. Depending on his body weight to blow a .08 could mean he only had 2 beers. Now how many of you have had a couple of beers or drinks after work or out on the town, not in your opinion been drunk in anyway shape or form and driven home? Not trying to make excuses for this guy just throwing out another perspective. Noone has said if this guy is truely and sincerely remorseful or not. If he is then the reality of killing someone will last a lifetime and he will punish himself over and over for that. Should he still be punished, well hell yes, but maybe a slight lesser sentence in jail. If no remorse then throw the book at him. Too many people are casting stones and not realizing the whole story here, if he was over .10 then I would be singing a different tune.

Not necessarily but it sure got you fired up ? All i said is i drink .... Im surprised they actually checked and found THC in his system.. He wasnt that drunk at .08 or there abouts so he had to be stoned also.. Hey I went out and got a nice mexican dinner last night cause the wife was out of town and I rode the scoot and had 2 beers!... Was I legally drunk ? Possibly but I got home without falling down ...
