Choice of color is no big deal, that can be decided real quick! The handle bar issue as it is now, I like the beach type bar. But I realize that I/we will have to adjust and cinfigure to our needs. That's half the fun, right?

Many of the 06 touring bikes have the brake squeal, not just the RKs.....the Moco's suggested fix is to swap the rotors. As mentioned, floating rotors is the permanent fix. The stock seat feels pretty good (for stock), but I liked the fit of the Sundowner. Best to just put some miles on it -- your butt(s) will tell you. Add the sissy bar; it makes a huge difference.

ORIGINAL: GrayRider

I have one and rode it from Dayton, OH to Horn Lake, MS in one day last year. (650 miles) Also rode it to the Dragon's Tail in NC. At this moment, I'm in Cocoa Beach, FL having ridden down here from Dayton. (1000 miles) Will ride it to Eureka Springs, AR next month. I have a Corbin Classic Solo seat and have retained the beach bars. It's as comfortable as can be expected. Doesn't ride as well as a standard RK, because the shocks are lowered in the back. An Electra Glide would be more comfortable, but I'm not interested in the fairing and radio.
We were looking HARD at the Ultra and have decided agaist it. Regarding the suspension, that is what I heard. I can understand that, but want to know how much comfort I/we will give up on looks? If I/we can do about 300-400 miles a day, I have no problem with those numbers!

Sissy bar is a given! What can one figure on paying for the after market rotors?

They're in the catalog -- can't remember the actual price; however, nothing's cheap on these suckers! I'm still tolerating the squeal (it's not overwhelming, just annoying). The local Moco volunteered to install them free once I get them.

Just checked the book -- the ones I want appear to to 120 bucks apiece -- you'll need two.

That Black Cherry attracts to many fruit flys...bound to slow you down!

<snip>
Not sure where to go with this one...

1. Neither fruit flies or f ag hags are attracted to me or my bike.
or
2. It's the fruit flies that give the bike it's extra lift.

Cheers

Yeah, I gotta admit the BC looks pretty good -- if I'd seen it first, I might have gotten it. I've never owned anything but a black bike -- I'm not sure I'd know how to act! Might have to add some cool pinstriping.....

BC on the web does not do the color justice! When at the dealer it was a purdy thing.
