I may as well jump in, since I think I have had conversation with most of the guys on this thread
Love the Custom.. the clean look sold me. I had originally been leaning towards Black Pearl, until I actually saw the BC in person.. IMHO it is the best color they have... always getting compliments on the color.
Despite what Vic says.. I have not seen an abundance of fruit flies finding their way to my bike either.
All in all, the custom is a great choice.... I added more pictures at the link below, a couple taken on my recent trip to Las Vegas.
Another positive statement. I love my Custom, I had the EG before this one and I am much happier with the RK. I have the black and with the chrome that comes standard, it really looks good. I will be riding alittle over 1000 miles starting Monday and when I get back I can tell you how the bike felt and performed. My next big item is the Rineharts, they are sitting in the garage, but that will have to wait until after my trip. I hope they are good as others who have them say they are. Good luck with your decision, either way, are great bikes.

GREAT look'en bike!!! Have you done anything to the engine other than the Rinehart's? Already have my i's on those!
I have an RK Custom and have made long trips 2 up with full luggage, including the Laughlin River Run last month. It is very comfortable 2 up snd I would assume it is just about as comfortable as the other 2 RK's. yes, I know It has one inch shorter shocks-but that is part of its cool look. If you want the same ride just add the regular 13" touring shocks, or add 12" progressive shocks and it will ride same if not better than the 13" HD shocks. As for the handlebars I have been happy with them. I added a throttle rocker and they are fine that way.
Check my gallery and you can see that I have it setup for solo riding and 2 up long hauls. In the end it is a touring bike with a few faces -just like the other 2 RK's, but with more style
I have one and rode it from Dayton, OH to Horn Lake, MS in one day last year. (650 miles) Also rode it to the Dragon's Tail in NC. At this moment, I'm in Cocoa Beach, FL having ridden down here from Dayton. (1000 miles) Will ride it to Eureka Springs, AR next month. I have a Corbin Classic Solo seat and have retained the beach bars. It's as comfortable as can be expected. Doesn't ride as well as a standard RK, because the shocks are lowered in the back. An Electra Glide would be more comfortable, but I'm not interested in the fairing and radio.
We were looking HARD at the Ultra and have decided agaist it. Regarding the suspension, that is what I heard. I can understand that, but want to know how much comfort I/we will give up on looks? If I/we can do about 300-400 miles a day, I have no problem with those numbers!
They tell me that you can put Progressive shocks on them and improve the ride and keep it lowered.

I'm sure you can. Progressive is a big name in the metric world too.
