Do motorcycle covers keep the dust off of your bike? My bike is stored in the garage and covered with a sheet. Does not take long to get covered with dust after cleaning. Any suggestions for a good cover for a touring bike?
I have the one made by Harley that is both the weather proof one and it breathes, it works great and will keep the dust off. I used it when I had to keep my bike outside, and I really liked it

I've got the indoor one from Harley. It's got nice elastic around the base of it that holds it pretty tight to the bike. Keeps dust off pretty good. The only thing I don't like is, I've got a RKC and an Ultra and to my knowledge there is only one size of cover for touring bikes. The Ultra one fits pretty darn good, the RKC one drags the floor when it's on. Since I'm always riding and don't have time to sweep my garage floor until winter, the cover gets kind of dirty. Also, I got tired of unscrewing the antennas every time so I cut two holes in the one for the Ultra. I wish the covers were more specific to the bikes and had holes already in them for the antennas.
I got a Dowco brand cover from Motorcycle-superstore.com for about $40
Got the 3X in Khaki because it was on clearance. (No one likes that color). Cover is waterproof, has the heat shields on both sides and keeps the dust off.
The 2X will fit my Ultra as well but I like the looseness of the 3X. FWIW, I actually bought both the 2X and 3X on closeout for less than the cost of one in black and gray and way less than a cover from HD....
A few years ago bought a full cover from J&P. It breaths, has heat protection for pipes and its non-descript, gray. It folds up and fits into a carry bag. Used it on the road with heavy thunderstorms and bike stays relatively dry.
