well the Redline HD shockproof i used first was like pepto and the V twin next change was a clear green color and performs quieter and smoother than the HD- Shockproof. The V-Twin costs less too and is available at Cycle Gear in many cites.
The owner of RacerPartsWarehouse must be on crack then because he said they were the same. I apologize if I misled. I personally use the Heavy Shockproof in the red bottle(pepto in color) for transmission and the MTL in the primary.
Are you saying the V-Twin badged stuff is more quiet than the red labeled Heavy Shockproof?

That said Redline states on their website that the Redline Heavy Shockproof is great for use in wet clutches. Can you and would you theoretically use it in the primary
case?
"Red Line's Motorcycle 80W Gear Oil With Shockproof is designed for applications like two-stroke motocross bikes, shifter karts and the CRF 250 450 transmission. This oil can be used where an 80W oil is called for, ShockProof's microscopic solid medium provides cushioning between gear teeth, while maintaining lower drag. It reduces the thinning effect from high temperatures and provides the balanced slipperiness necessary for consistent shifting and proper wet-clutch operation."
Shockproof "Heavy" White bottle / Red-pink label.
I used it in my 01 FLHT and recently installed it my 09 Ultra. Good stuff but kinda pricey at $14.00qt around here.
It may have quieted my 5th whine or perhaps it is getting broke in.
I just put the Redline V-Twin tranny in my bike and it is red color. Don't know where the green color is coming from but it's not the V-Twin tranny oil.
I use V-Twin Transmission Oil with ShockProof: The viscosity characteristics allow the lubricant to resist throwoff and provide a film thickness similar to a 75W250 grade, while providing the same low fluid friction as an SAE 75W90.
i sorta wish redline products were available here in eastern oklahoma, get this, royal purple max cycle went from 7.99 a quart to 16.99 a quart. so i gotta find a different source. a funny thing about royal purple, i was showing a friend how to change his oil so he could do it himself rather than me always doing it for him. we were using royal purple, and i asked him before pouring the oil in his primary, hey man, does this stuff taste funny to you? he dipped his finger in the oil and tasted it. i laffed my butt off. all is well though, he's still a good friend.
Redline V-twin with shockproof. I just put it in 400mi. ago and could'nt be more pleased. I have an 07 RKC and my concern was with the "clunk" more then 5th gear whine. It hasn't completely silenced the clunk, but it has softened it.
