Good morning all -
I am picking up the new scoot today and was wondering if anyone had an opinion on whether or not to wait a few weeks to apply the first coats of wax. I have no way of knowing how long ago the tins were painted, so how do I know if the paint is sufficiently cured.

I did not wait. The first thing I done was put about 5 coats of wax on the Fairing and lowers. Those bugs will come off easier. Also when removing baked on bugs, Get them wet first Several times with soap and water to soften them up before you go trying to scrub them off. Some people will lay a wet towell over them for several minutes to soften them up.

I would wax it right now. Stop reading this post and run to your bike! 
Good info by the way on the bug thing. I use a wet paper towl, laying it on the bike for several minutes and thos bugs come right off!
