Hi all, Ive been thinking of changing over to hard bags on my classic and was wondering if anyone here has done this ? If so, what hardware changes were needed to make the conversion. Off to work but thanks in advance to the response.
I have done it on my bike. When I decided to custom paint the bike I moved over to the hard bags. I didn't have to do anything other than mount them up. They mount the exact same way the soft bags do. My signature has a picture.
Did mine a couple of years ago. Mounting is the same for both bags. Bought mine from ebay for $400 already painted the hardware cost me another $250. No regrets!!!!!!!
Am planning the same. Got a set of police bags (now in paint prep).
If you have the detachable backrest you will notice a spacer on the rear bag brackets (RKC only). It is to move the bag out a little so the lid won't rub on the backrest when you open it. This is not needed for hard bag mounting. Otherwise all hardware is the same
