Default Should be a poll question !

What should be a poll question?

The saying goes, "there are 2 kinds of bikers...those that have crashed and those that are going to."

The poll question would simply be,,,,,,do you agree or disagree?

I 100% disagree. It is, of course possible, for any biker to crash any day. Some ride like idiots and some are overly cautious, which is also dangerous. Some are just great riders, and barring a "TRUE" accident, will ride forever without a crash. Getting hit by a deer, a car making an unavoidable move, and so on, are true accidents. Riding above your skill level and hitting a corner too hot or an on/off ramp to hot, etc.....crash ! Not paying attention, crash. Riding drunk/high, slows your reactions/senses, crash. Wheelies, stoppies, excessive speeding, crash.

Anyone, any day, so do what you can to make sure it's NOT you !!!

The way I have always looked at that is that it is a fact every biker will crash sometime in his/her riding life. If I could look into a crystal ball and know for a fact I was going to eventually crash I probably wouldn't ride.

Only been down once seriously in 40 years of riding .. And that was because a gal went down in front of me and no where else to go but off road or hit her again and she had enough problems, nearly died as it was .. Now it you count foolish things like kickstand flukes, grabbing front brake with handle bars cocked not being attentive backing up and hit a pot hole etc.. Been down a dozen times.. If ever think can't go down 1 split second of a misread is all it takes...

That is your opinion and your are entitled too it. But why think about the unknown? It will eat one up inside.

Bad news dude, update, tomorrow is NOT a given, you may not make it thru the night, or even TO tonight.

I don't worry about crashing, it's always a possibility, but I do what I can to reduce the chances.

I'm older than dirt now (almost ready to hit the big 60) but have been riding since I was 16. Have had every make and model of bike known to mankind. Never kept one more than two years. But its because I like to try different bikes, never crashed one and I don't want too either.

I agree nothing saying anyone is ever going to crash, same could be said about anything......pilots, semi-drivers, skydivers........you get where I am going here

I like listening to the guy that tells me I haven't had an accident in the last five years, then tells me there is 6k miles on the bike.

I figure the more time you have on the saddle the more likely you have an incident, I also think that the more time you have on the saddle the better your skills become.

Unfortunately for some their first or second incident happens and they have an accident. I have learned a lot from almost having an accident but not much from having an accident. The almost get filed in my database and the next time I hope I have the skills to react better based on the fact that I have done this before.

What was the question or poll I forgot.
