LOL Yeah they're a pain in the a$$ but well worth it in the end. I changed positions acouple of times till I found the perfect mix. Once you find it though your gonna be happy.

it took me forever to get them even too. My kids love to play with my tape measures, so of course when I needed one, they were no where to be found. I used a piece of white twine. I mounted one where I wanted it, ran a piece of twine up the enside of the engine guard (from the bottom) and marked it with a sharpie. I used it as a guide for the other side. About a week later I found my tape measure and they were right on

I have a set on my FLHX and since the bracket has a little play in it, it moves every time you tighten the allen head screw, one moves to the front and the other moves to the rear.

I just installed mine a few days ago. No tape measure nearby. I used my foot. Heel on the floorboards and watched how my foot landed on the pegs. Got the right side where I wanted it and matched up the left using my other foot. Checked it the next day with a tape measure and it was dead on. Worked for me....

Easier when you have someone stand the bike upright while you put them on. That's what I did anyway.

Thanks for all the info, I think I got them where I want them. It almost resulted in divorce but the wife lent a hand. I did not think to put thread locker on them. Maybe I will wait a few miles and make sure they are still tight. I really dont want to take them off again.

Who cares if they are "perfectly even"...mine are not.
I carried a socket and wrench for 2 weeks and adjusted them constantly until I hit the sweet spot.

Then again mine are only about 1/4" differance after all that
