just a quick observation here. on some bikes your handling will be greatly affected by even a slight mis calculation in air pressure. yesterday i had a pretty pronounced high speed wobble when cornering hard at 75mph. i pulled over and checked my air pressure and it was set at the top end of the two up range. i let off the air and put it at the mid range for a solo rider and i was back to my normal flawless handling. it was quite an eye opener.

I wonder if this is the root to the wobble problem everybody says the pre 09s have? I have never in 20k experienced this wobble on my RK, yet I never have my air over 13lbs in the shocks,,,hmmmmm___ Curious?
Just bought a 2009 Road King. When adjusting the air shocks using the HD gauge and pump, do the saddlebags need to come off or can the adjustment be made with the bags on?
I have an 02 Ultra and use the HD pump - as for taking bags off, on mine, I just open the lid on my R/H side and the valve stem is right there.
In regards to air pressure, my manual states 30 psi max.

Ya know I have never experianced the wobble in 35k with air press. at 35#(2up) or at 12# solo.
I got a new air pump on ebay for 19.99 a year ago. Just like the harley one.
Had the same problem with the HD pump letting air out as i removed it from the valve. Then discovered if I screwed the pump back on the valve it would read a very low pressure until I pushed in on the rubber hose (pushed toward the valve) at this time it would read the actual pressure I have in the shocks. Once I figured this out I had no more problems with air adjustments. Aggravating at first though.

I have a 08 Ultra with 13K miles and I've experienced the wobble several times, but it's only when I'm leaning hard and fast in a big curve (on ramp, etc., not a tight curve like on a road.) I have tried adjusting the pressure to see if it would help or not. It never helped to get rid of the wobble. Slowing down is the only thing that works for me especially when I see a big arcing curve ahead.
