ULTRA with backrest. i rode a RK for four years and love it, but it does not compare to the Ultra comfort, the Ultra handles just like the RK around town no problems..
Ultra.....I bought my Ultra thinking it would be my "when im not on my fatboy bike" turns out my fatboy has become my" when Im not on my Ultra bike. It is very nimble and stable and comfortable and the tunes rock and ...i could go on but you get the pic.
Thank you ALL for your opinions! I know I had already decided on a RKC, but that was after I had decided first on the Ultra! This is a tuff delema. I want to do it right the first time. Again, thanks guy's!
Mike, yes it is a tough decision. I changed my mind so many times I was driving my wife crazy.
What dealer is going to sell you an 06 Peace Officer Ultra for under $18,000 OTD ? I just bought one and I paid $18,500 plus tax. Plus I know I got a great deal because the dealership's GM is a close family friend. If there is a dealer that will sell an Ultra for that price I want to know where it is and who to talk to !! Also, I just upgraded from a RK to the Ultra and will never go back. The RK was an awesome bike (I did get the RK for under $18,000 OTD) but I grew out of it and love the Ultra.
Man I wish I wouldve asked this question on this forum prior to my purchase. I went w/ the road king... now i'm looking at aftermarket fairings that dont have all the guages like you said you would like.
BUY THE ULTRA and strip it down if you like.... its much cheaper than adding on like i'm doing.
Man you said when you said "What We plan to do with the bike"
I have an 06 Ultra (obivously) you can strip it down for day to day commute or full dress for the weekend or the big ride. The tour pack comes off or on easy (15min). The "we" in this equation will love the comfort of the glide and the handling is a breeze when you learn how.
