very hot engine
Put mobile 1 20/50 v twin in about 1000mi ago, stock 07, 96 RKC. Running about three hours today through all types of conditions. Country roads, slab, etc. Hit a couple long lights in town near home. Pulled bike into garage and it smelled like something was burning. Checked tranny oil and primary seemed ok. Engine was very hot, oil level seemed ok and wasn't watery. any ideas.

No stage one. The engine was very hot and my first thought was the remnants of the syn 3 burned off ? There was some light oil on my air filter that wasn't there before and I just bled out 2-3 ounces of oil in case too much in engine.

Think I found problem. Monday riding in the mountains, a crew was putting down oil and gravel. Got behind a truck and had to duck behind windshield to breath for a few miles. Since I ended ride on slab bike was clean, no dust. Pulled out resently installed air cleaner and can not see light through it. Closer look it's pretty funky. Washing out same and will probably replace tomorrow. Hope this gets it.
