Picture this, starting on the right side, you can easily place the windshield in position and push the first well nut into the hole on the fairing. Now working from right to left the other well nuts will be out of alignment, so you have to flex the windshield to move them toward the holes. To make this easier, if you loop a shoe lace over the well nut and pull both ends toward the next hole, the well nut will fall into it. Then repeat this step for the next well nut. The last one takes a little extra force by pulling and having some one gently push on the shield. Once they are in the holes, you can push directly on the base of the windshield to help seat all of them. Then you can begin tightening the screws. Tighten them slightly one at a time, going back and forth across each one of them until they all start to tighten. In other words, DO NOT tighten the far right one as tight as it will go and move over to the next, this technique will bind the windshield. I hope I explained that ok. I put my CV +2 on last night - a VERY EASY installation. Everything went well. I immediately took it up on the highway - which was a bit of a challenge as it was dark and I still had the protective film on the new windshield. It did an AWESOME job of deflecting the wind - waaaaaaaay better than OEM. I also put my hand up as I was riding and the wind is just at the very top of my helmet. So while I got the height right for me (I'm 6'6") I'm not sure I like looking at the very top edge of it (or so it seemed last night). I've got a ~300 mile trip today and I'll be able to get a good sense of whether I like it. From a purely looks perspective, I like the very short shields, but I don't think I'd ever get the wind protection I'd like (with either a CV or KW shield).
Why not put the well nuts into the fairing first? I leave mine in the fairing when I take mine off. It takes me 5 minutes to change windshields and that is with the chrome HD trim. With the well nuts in the fairing, start with the center screw get it pretty tight but not all the way, then move to the 2 screws closest to the center same thing but leave them a little bit looser. Then the 2 on the outside. Once done with that, back to the center tighten down, then the next set etc... Simple and quick...
