I need to replace a burned out passing lamp. The OEM lamp is a 27 watt #881 lamp.
It has an angled plug connector. I have heard someone say that you cannot use a lamp that does not have the angled plug. In another thread someone also said that you could use a Sylavania #880ST lamp for brighter light. The 880ST has a straight connector so we have conflicting info.
I would rather use the 880ST if it will fit but I don't want to spend $20+ a piece on these lamps only to find that they will not fit and since they have been installed can't return them either.
I recently replaced my passing lights with the Sylvania 880ST. They have the straight plug connector. They will fit, but its tight. Much brighter at night!
