Default fork seals leaking

Hi guys, I have an 06 sg. I hit a pot hole today and one of the fork sliders is leaking fluid.I am pretty handy with tools, is it fairly easy to take the sliders apart and put new seals in?

to remove slider is just time consuming and requires you to get front end in the air.
the REAL rate limiting step is the dam 6mm? allen bolt that is deep inside the leg.
that bolt is what holds the slider to the leg..only visible once front wheel is off.
Many times forum members report that the slider with-out the cap on bottom is most difficult..since bolt is so deep inside..it (allen bolt) gets stripped and then the fun begins..drilling the dam head off the allen and then leg comes off.
there are multiple post available in the search function..some with detailed pictures..
may wish to consider change-out of sliders for chrome or black as the work will be same.

Yep the 6 mm allen bolt is hard to take off, tuesday i change my stock slider for the chrome one and the 6mm bolt strip on each side had to cut off to get the slider apart.
I suggest you take off the 6mm with an impact drill.

Most commonly this is grease from the head bearing. If you have over greased it, it will run down the leg and look like a seal has failed. You might want to check that before breaking out the tools.

Ditto this, especially if its the left side. It seems to travel to that side from parking and leaned on the jiffy stand.
