Default hogtunes first impression

I installed my new hogtunes speakers and amp yesterday. Installation was very straightforward and relatively easy, time consuming but not really all that difficult. I turn it on and wow absolutely nothing happened, radio came on and everything else powered up but no sound from front speakers so I call hogtunes and they inform me that I am probably missing a fuse, no problem they had sent one in the box so I put it in and BOOM here comes a wall of sound, so large of a wall that it immediately blew one of the new speakers. I was still on the phone with hogtunes and of course I told them about it. Their response was to turn it up, it sounded good as loud volume but terrible at low. The hogtunes tech was very nice and told me that would send me a replacement speaker out right away no charge and to keep the blown one. Great customer service! Now for the sound. Like I said earlier all the distortion in the blown speaker disappears at about mid-volume and the other one works flawlessly at all levels but I was disappointed. I expected the sound to blow me away but I really couldn't say it is that much superior to stock, it was better but not 250 bucks better. I'll be able to say much more when the defective speaker is replaced but so far I'm not impressed.

I had the same impression, not much different than stock but everybody else here is very impressed and blown away by them. I just didn't see it. I replaced one speaker and cranked it up before installing the second and they sounded the same to me.

I have installed thereplacement speakers all around as well
as installed a tweeter pod and the lower speakers with amp.
The bike now has a 8 speaker system that I love, no great
amount of volume increase as measured by the display on
the radio. However, I can tell a great difference in the sound
quality Greater Lows, clearer mid's and high's not cheap but
I would recommend them.

The bass did sound a little better, but as far as loudness, unless I've lost some hearing, I didn't notice a 20% louder sound over stock. I hope when I get the new speaker it will make more of a difference.

Same experience here. Not much better than stock. I expected more.

I spent over $800 on a Hawg Wired setup and I had to turn the radio off at speeds above 70 and more (most speed limits in Texas are 70 mph) because I couldn't hear the radio worth a crap. I don't have a clue how people say they can hear it fine at highway speeds. I never even installed it when I changed bikes.

I gave it to the service writter and said I didn't care WTF he did with it. He could put it in his bike, sell it or throw it away. I didn't want any part of it anymore.

My buddy is an audiophile and to his ears the Hog Tunes set-up is a big improvement over the stock set-up on his '06 Ultra-ized Classic; not in loudness, but in better bass and mid-range.

I can hear my stock radio just fine at 75 mph..... All I have on is V&H slip-ons, they're really only loud when I pour the coals to the twins, otherwise they just make a nice mellow rumble.....
