I originally posted this in the General Forum, but if your like me you don't go in that forum as much as here. So I figured I'd repost here to see if maybe I can get some information here.
I've been looking around and researching these jackets. I've decided that I'm going to get one. My question is, is there that much of a difference between the "new for 09" and the older model. I can get the "new for 09" for around $550 of the older model for about $465 Thanks for your help.

not sure about these styles specifically, but most of the time...newer models in clothing have more to do with styling than anything. My guess is the features/quality are the same, or at least, very similar. Cost differences can come from various things...fabric costs/use of more leather/styling costs/features/inflation/etc.

I looked at the 09 jackets and older. For that difference I would go with the 09. The new design is intended to cover a wider temp range. The older jackets are great but heavier.
I just got one of the new jackets that are like made of cordura and the outer lining zips out to make it a mesh jacket and it also comes with a waterproof liner. Just got done with a 1500 mile trip through the mountains dealing with 95+ degree to 60 degree to rain. The jacket was awesome, i recommend it
