Well i went to my local dealer and they have my perfect bike!! 2009 Roadglide Orange with black stripes!! sticker was 21400.00 they took off 2000.00 right off the bat, so i was down to 19400 and then I asked the magic question??? Whats my 96 Ultra Classic worth with 64,000 miles... the miles are a little high but my bike is really nice and its PAID FOR!!!
He said i will give you 4500, I just cant do it!! I would have if he offered me like 6500 but we just didnt get there and I see alot of Ultras on Ebay as not as nice as mine bring better then 4500..... I know my bike has to be worth 6500 or I will just drive it another 64000 miles and then it will be an antique!!
Well if you want a good deal let me know and i will hook you up with a pretty road glide, they also had a 2010 red road glide but the orange is just AWESOME!!!!
Don't do that trade. So they "knock off" two grand. That puts it right around msrp for orange and abs brakes. Tell him it's an 09 and you want two grand off the $19400. And sell you bike yourself.
I haven't shopped them recently but several months back Bruce Rossmeyer's Destination Daytona was ready to sell me one for under $18K. They have a big internet sales business. You may want to give them a look. And, like someone else said, sell your old bike yourself. Last month I had one in the garage taking up space so I cleaned it up and sat it out on the driveway. That day the postman stopped and said he wanted to buy it. Monday he had the check.............You never know who may want your bike.
I have just about talked myself out of the trade!! My wife just said why not paint yours orange??? and the economy and ,mine is paid for............i hate temptation!!
I wanted the new frame when Harley came out with the 2009. But I had so much in my 98 Ultra. And with the market, I could not bring myself to sell it. But in May, a P/U decided for me. He turned left and totaled it. I never expected to get back near my investment. But I received Market.
My surprise was how the Dealer I had always found great deal, wanted to make all of his profit from me. I am working with a new dealer and their 2009 is $6K less than my old dealer. And exactly with the same, or better Vivid Black.
