Default Engine ping, driving me crazy......

I've got a hd 95inch stage 2 and the ping on hot days, with the wife on the back, is really getting to me.I have tried efi carbon cleaner, se colder big bore plugs, got into the sert, dropped low speed af by 1.5, tried richening the accel mode, no help, dropped timing by 2.5, no help, sprayed either around throttle bodies for possible air leak, no help, anyone have anymore thoughts, or do I get some ear plugs?

Take it to the dealer, that's why I am going there this afternoon also. They have the equipment to see how the sensors are operating.Saves alot of money from trying things that don't work.

I have a 07 sg with 103 kit the higher comp will do this it is due to low octane fuel i have run a couple gallons of 110 race fuel mix with my 91 octane and it clears up amsoil makes a octane booster that work pretty well it doesnt work 100 percent but it does a good job try it and let me know

I'd run some Seafoam through the tank and make sure you are running a good quality high octane gas.

Ok you asked.....I would get rid of the SERT, get a PCIII and have it dyno tuned with an experienced tuner.

My 95" dyno'd at 102hp and 108tq. I do have to run 91-93 octane but I love it.

Do not ride any more until you get rid of the pinging. That is the sound of your motor self-destructing.

Where would I find sea foam?, never heard of it, though I'm not much for octane booster and such, I will try a can. Funny thing with the dyno guys, I've asked a few questions on the sert and what area to work on, and there lips are always sealed. I know I cant ride a dyno, and I'll never race one, if the bike didn't ping I would be happy, it pulls well and gets good mileage still(44-48).

There are different fixes for different problems, of course. My 95" pinged until I took it on a high speed/RPM ride on a hot day. I rode from Las Vegas to L.A. and back the next day. I rode as hard as I dared, as hot/high RPM as I dared. It blew the carbon off and out of the motor. It didn't ping for several hundred miles of city driving. When it starts again I go for a hard ride for a dozen or so miles. It's fun and a good excuse to ride hard. Good Luck

I bet that pinging is detonation which is not good. Mine did it nearly every shift after a 103 stage 2 when the weather turned hot and I opened the throttle even though the dealer who did the work did a new dyno. Took it to another dealer, where I should have gone first, a new custom map with my SERT and the ping is gone. You may want to consider an expert dyno operator. Good luck!
