OK there are a million fork oil threads on this site - anyone got a good reference thread worth reading/saving? I want to learn about improving performance and longevity.

I'm at 8K miles right now, so I think this would be a good fall/winter project.

It's about a 10 minute job.....not exactly a project.....ok maybe 30 minutes on a Street Glide due to having to access the top of the fork.

If you have a mityvac....then you are back to 10 minutes.

I have to agree that 50K seems to be a long interval to wait to change the fluids up front.

Hey Scrooge...where the heck were you with this message a couple years ago when my bike bottomed and dented my fender?

Good message though.

I think your right based on what I'm finding out. I saw some early threads that talked about removing forks. Yikes - no thanks. Maybe next weekend then! I found that old iClick post DPete showed, and iClick is always spot on in his write ups.

Hope this full thread helps someone - https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...il-change.html
