had the bike at the dyno to get custom map and pc111. They called to inform me that the bike was running too lean and they had found a air intake leak. They said they have seen this problem a lot latley on the newer bikes. The hd dealer is back-up a few weeks and the dyno tech want 2 hours of labor and the rubber gasket to fix. Anyone had this problem? I posted this on a different thread if think you might have read this already.
thanks
Did you change you intake to the Stage I or something similar? I upgraded my air intake myself to the Stage I, and took only 10 minutes to do. I wouldn't pay them two hours of labor to do it.

yes it has the stage 1 but they said the leak is past the throttle body going into the engine. They have to take the throttle body off to get to it. Sorry if I wasn't clear on that.
I have an intake leak and the labor time was quoted to me to be 2 hours. They have to unbolt the fuel injection from the front and rear heads...your talking about the gaskets or seals between the fuel injection and the heads. I was going to attempt to fix it myself cause the gaskets or seals are about $5 a piece, but the mechanic told me I needed some special tool. I have a 2 hour appointmrnt to get it fixed.
He found my leak by having me fire up my bike and then he sprayed brake cleaner around the intake area between the heads....my bike stalled...indicating an air leak. It sucked that stuff right in!! It all started by me asking him about deceleration popping and he thought maybe an intake leak.
I have the MM fuel injection on my Road King and IMO paying 2 hours labor is worth it. I'm pretty sure you have to unbolt the throttle body from both cylinders to put new gaskets on it. It's in a pretty tight spot and it's a pain.
I think you bike will be running lean and popping with a intake leak. It should only take a hour . True with a air leak it won't dino I would check it with WD 40 if it revs up you have a leak
