Riding today and my fuel light came on and showed 38 miles left. this suprised me as my gauge red 1/2 full. went to gas up and it took over 5 gal. so I figure it's the gauge or sender. Anyone had this problem? It's an 08 FLHT.
Can't saPutting fuel in can be a y I had that "exact" prob but my gage use dto work perfect...then one day it is messed up !! can go 100 miles before it quickly moves to half than bounces around...all kinds of wierd activity....but it werked perfectly for several months.
Many people have issues with there harley fuel gage. definitely no uncommon.
I have also read that a bent float rod in the tank can be a main culprit. Putting in fuel can be a 'tricky' proposition....not putting nozzle all the way in, not filling at a high rate.
I have not messed with mine yet (winter project) but expect a bent fuel float rod.
