Very nice... impressive, and a real conversation starter. Thank you and all of the others who are serving our country and helping to preserve it's greatness in difficult times.

Thanks for all the great advice and good words on the bike. Also thanks for the support on the career I have chosen. I love my Army life and will miss it when I retire. I love traveling and meeting people all over the world.
I am hoping it goes over well at the Georgia HOG rally and Biketoberfest. That would be cool if I got it in a magazine. I will keep working on her all day today.
Gotta love that green! I'm sure the pictures don't do it justice. That bike would look great up front of the ride to raise funds for the "Wounded Soldiers Project" I just learned of it and don't have all the details. The ride is from Rock Hill S.C. to Chimney Rock N.C.(100 miles) Sept. 19, Escorted by Wounded Soldiers in Hummvees. It should be a great way to "HONOR" our troops. Maybe some one else has more info. Sorry about the Hi-jacked thread
Hello,
My name is Todd and I have been in the Army for 22 years this month. After Iraq I bought a 09 Street Glide wanting to build an Army edition bike only after many years of chasing a reasonable WWII Harley WLA.
I got my parts back from paint this weekend and currently putting it together wanting to share it with ya'll. The big pic I will not show until it is all done. I had custom work done on the rear fender. I had a Humvee taillight frenched in and will be using Humvee marker lights as blinkers. This is my version of an updated Army bike so I painted it a beautiful metallic green that the pics do not do it justice as there is lots of gold in this green.
I am also saving the chopped tour pack and lower fairing that have been painted for later. Soon I would like the bags and seat covered in light tan leather like the old Army bikes.
What I really hope to find is a nice Army Derby cover. I really like the Harley one they used to make but cannot find one.
Will keep you updated on the build. Thanks for listening to my rambling and first real post.
Todd
GO ARMY
Todd:
Great job! You'll definitely have the most unique Harley around. I'll bet your ROTC students will think your bike is "the heat". I just retired last August after 30 years and 1 month on active duty in the Army, and bought myself an 09 Ultra to add to the stable for my reward (it was a great excuse anyway). Looking forward to seeing your finished product. Rangers lead the way! Brian
Very cool brother, also a good recruiting tool. Nice color of green, I like it.
+1 - To carry the recruiting tool one step further, it would be nice if some recruiter could get the Army to fork over some bucks to help you will the project with the understanding that maybe you'd do some occasional appearances for them.
