True duels, stock muffs?!???
Thanks,
Doug
I did it am am very satisfied with the kit. Down the road you want to try different mufflers for different sounds you can do that too. I like the dual exhaust note on a HD.
If you want a real clean looking dual header set up then get the V&H for about $310 and it replaces your entire existing header system.
It would sound better. A simple inexpensive way to try this out is to install the Fullsac dual header conversion kit. About $175 and they provide you with all the parts to convert your existing headers to a dual arrangment. Check out the web site http://www.fullsac.com/products_exhaust.htm Easy to convert back if you decide you do not like it.

thanks !!! weet.
I have an 06 EG standard. I don't want a loud bike but I would like a true duel for looks and sound. Just wondering, am I the only fool that would run stock muffs with a true duel setup? Anyone running this combo? I think it would still sound better than stock just because of the ballanced pulses, but what the hell do I know?
Thanks,
Doug
You will not have "Balanced" pulse, nor will the bike run anywhere near correctly.....
Your mufflers are different, referring to the Catalytic Converter in the Right Muffler....
Not trying to Chap your Azz, but create some semblence of awareness that your thought process is good, it is not well thought out.......
You are going to have to go with another set of muffs (Maybe get a set of 05 take-offs), and maybe a Fuel Management system (If you are EFI).....

Im really not stupid and I thought I did "think this out".
I agree that mufflers with out cats, or aftermarket mufflers would be best but they are not in the budget right now (and most are too loud for me). I was hoping to do the true dual conversion now (Fullsac), and change muffs later (getting a set off ebay and sending to Fullsac for recore).
I realize that there will be no performance gain with the true duals and stock muffs, but I don't see why it wouldn't run "anywhere near correctly" unless there is a difference between the cats in the left and right muffs.
Please help me with my "semblence of awareness".
Thanks,
Doug
BTW: bike has a carb and believe it or not I can tune it.
