I am looking to upgrade my speakers on my ultra and want to know what anyone thinks. I have been looking at the J&M, Arc Audio, Hog tunes, etc. I was thinking speakers now and maybe an amp later. Any opinions?
I was disappointed with my hogtunes set up. I bought the fronts and the amp. After 300 bucks the sound is only marginally better. The sound is richer and a little clearer at highway speed while the volume is not any louder than stock as best I can tell, it's nice but I wouldn't spend that kind of money on a hogtunes setup again.

Reason: left something out
I just installed J&M speakers in the front of my bike. I noticed a difference right away.
I will replace the rear also...as now, I can not hear the rear speakers when the fader is equal front/rear. I can understand now why EG Classics don't require rear speakers.
Just talked to a buddy of mine that also has a Electra Glide. He replaced his stock windshield with a different type last week and claims that he can now get much better sound out of his stock radio speakers at highway speeds.
I spent $59 on a set of Infinity Kappa speakers. I've heard the J&M and Hogtunes and I'll put the Infinities up against them any day at about 2/3rds the cost
I went all out with the 3 way for freeway set up loved it. Then Pez came out with the tweeter pod awesome. But it means dropping a few bucks for sure. As for the back speakers they are for the passanger.
The only thing I have to say is "ARC"!!!!! I have the amp, 6-1/2" front and 5-1/4" in back and it F--KING rocks!!!! 75-80mph and no problems.
And that is on an Electra Glide. I bought the rear pods off the forum here and ditched the stock speakers for ARC upgrades and have never looked back. I have people turn around and look at me in town from over a half block away with it only at 1/4 or 1/3rd volume.
The 6.5" Alpines with the Wet Sounds amp (same as Arc but coated for marine use) rock. AaronOregon (site sponsor) from ThrottleUp Industries sells this setup.
