I'm new to this site as I am a new Harley owner. I have a 2009 Street Glide. My guess is that much has been written about the Stage 1 modification. But here's my question: My bike came with Rinehart slip-on mufflers, but no Stage 1 modification. If I invest in a Stage 1 mod, I generally understand what that is, and that it will increase performance to some degree. My question is whether or not the Stage 1 mod will increase/enhance the sound/loudness of the Rinehart pipes that are already on the bike? Thanks in advance for your help.
Well it could change the sound a little, but probably not a significant difference, depending on how you do your stage 1 mod. The main benefit will be the bike will run cooler and be more comfortable to ride with a mild increase in performance.
Stage 1 is higher flow mufflers and air cleaner along with an ECM flash or new fuel management system like the HD SEST or after market item like PCIII or PCV. Changing either the muffler or AC alone is not Stage 1. A higher flow AC will not give you a louder muffler but you may notice the sound of the better air flow through the AC.
Thanks for the quick replies. How would you describe the performance change that I might get from doing a Stage 1 mod?
Stage 1 A/C and Download
Minimal.
Had the Stage 1 A/C and download installed and had them put it on the Dyno since I had a coupon for a free run. Also have Rush Slipon's with 2" Baffles.
