As stated in most of the above replies it is a waste for the average rider.
But hey, if you just wanna throw your money away you can send it my way.

My dealer had an offer to do it for free at a major service, so I had it done. Price was right, and it can't hurt.

After about 2400 mi of all kinds of riding (around town, highway and 80 mph freeway) I can't identify any discernible difference. Have ridden from 1500' ASL to 9000' ASL, temps from 70's to 110.

On an 08 FLHRC with laced wheels (so tubed, meaning they can get all the old air evacuated).

Cost would have been $22 for the pair. Would I do it if I had to pay? Well, I've certainly spent $22 on dumber stuff (e.g. I smoke cigars, drink beer and have been to a crap table or two) so probably yes. But, again, I can't discern a difference over air.

The nitrogen in tires started in NASCAR, but NOT for the reasons the charlitans are hawking it to the general public! 100% Nitrogen contains no moisture and that makes air pressures increase less and more linear than plain old compressed air as the tires heat up. For the race crewchief, that makes tire pressure increases more predictable! There's NO other advantage to using it. (been there done that with 3 state championships and one national championship in what's now the Nationwide series) I'm also ASE and SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) certfied

Posts by idiots like this are why the internet sucks.

Entertaining, yes, but still sucking.

A lot of NASCAR teams have stopped useing Nitrogen and have gone back to air. As long as the air from the compressor is dry, they found no need for Nitrogen. With their tire temps getting so high, it was causeing the moisture in the tires to steam and cause pressure changes. For a regular road vehicles there is absolutely no reason to use it.
