You can't actually believe the government can control what you put in your tires.....How would you suppose they could even begin to enforce something as rediculous as that??
This is the way of the future. First in I believe 8 yrs the goverment is going to require it. One of the benefits of nitro is longer life on your tires and the other is that when a tire blows it is not as violent as when plain air. As far as adding air , you can add either when it is low.
do wha??
I can see it in racing. formula one, indycar and what not, but not in everyday use personal vehicles. its a freakin scam! someones made a shitload of money on it.
when I got my new wheels and tires they offered to put it in for free....I said sure! what the hell can't hurt. well I couldn't notice any difference. besides, to evacuate ALL the air the tire would have to be completely compressed to the rim with no dead space. when mounted with no tire pressure there is still AIR in there.
I've also heard that Nitrogen molecules are smaller which they say allows the normal loss of pressure to occur at a faster rate. I haven't confirmed this, but it makes sense. Anyone else hear this??

Yes for the average driver nitrgen is a waste of $$$
But some of the benfits are:
No moisture=no corroding inside of wheel.
Nitrogen molecules are larger=less seepage.
Tires hold truer pressure and don't run the risk of blowing out. There is some expansion when heated but not as much as air.
It aint worth it until they find a way to get 100% nitrogen into the tire and gas stations start to carry it.
it's a scam man, how do you think they are able to purge all the actual air out of your tire before they put in the nitrogen? i don't think there is a way that 22% of oxygen and other elements could be harmful in your tire. some people are dumb enough to fall for it. i'm glad for them. some will even make the claim that the molecules are larger in nitrogen than in the air we breathe, and therefore won't leak out as easily as nitrogen. wait a minute, if oxygen and all other gasses will seep out of a tire but nitrogen won't, doesn't it stand to reason that your tire would eventually have all nitrogen just using that fact? just my observation, your mileage may vary.
