What's up with this "must have the cali emissions"? Being from PA I don't understand that. Does it mean you can not register a bike in Cali without it? How would they know what it has? What happens when someone from out of state moves there with their non-cali emissions bike? You can buy from any dealer in the country and have the bike shipped to you for $500 or less, depends on the dealer, and I'm sure you can get a hell of alot better deal than anything you have come up with new so far. I paid 21k otd for my ultra last year. Just a thought.

Well, in CA, a new 2010 SG will MSRP at about $24,250 (w/main options)--- I found NO DEALS--- one dealer marked them UP by $3500!!

yep - exactly! CA is screwed up about this--- any vehicle offered for sale new, or imported from another state, less than 3 years old or less than 7500 MUST be CA Emissions Certified BY HARLEY--- no after-market fixes--- period.

And guess what? If you try to register a vehicle in violation of that law, it is blacklisted, and can NEVER be registered in CA... very weird, and very f*&ked up--- found an awesome SG back east, great price, like NEW 1000 miles-- not CA certified--- couldn't buy it!! orange sticker on the neck of the bike tells you if it is or not--- I think the VIN may possibly have a code as well---(could be wrong on that)

OK, I will keep lookin', but I may still take a trip to check it out if it is not sold by this weekend---

I found this one on San Fransico's Craigslist you could check and see if he still has it. Price seems a little high.

Good luck finding what you are looking for. I live in Oregon and have a 09 Streetglide I purchased in Orange County in March of 09 and it has CA emissions.

Though obviously not a CA resident, my understanding is that the VIN # is what they go by to determine if it's a CA-certified bike - the 8th digit in the 17-digit # - a 3, 5, or 6 means it came from the factory as CA-certified. How do I know? Have lost a couple of sales to CA residents because the odometer had less than the required 7,500 miles on a non-CA-certified bike.
Have you checked with Dudley Perkins? Thought I saw a post here awhile back saying they were making some good deals.
Have to say though I think that Standard is a very good-looking bike. Put some white-faced gauges on it!
Good luck with the hunt.

No offense, but it sounds like it's time to MOVE!!!! The land of fruits and nuts sounds more like a commie country than a US state. ANY vehicle that's 49 state legal ought to be legal ANYWHERE in the US. Why should California be allowed any different regulations, and why should such nonsense be legal under the commerce clause of our constitution? Seems to me they are restricting interstate commerce, and that's unconstitutional.

With the extras that have been added to this bike you can't go wrong. I will have close to that in an 03 bike when I'm finished. Like someone else said MOVE out while you can, you gotta have the craziest bunch of guys in the world running that state!!! Go South young man, great weather, low taxes, loud pipes, beautiful women,!!!

Love that color, and it's got a bunch of add ons. IF the additions are what you want, then it doesn't seem like a bad deal to me. But anything I didn't want, I'd negotiate on the price. Ask him to put the stock part back on, then knock of the difference.

And being a Longhorn fan I gottal tell ya, that license plate has to go!
