The saying goes, "if you have a big enough hammer, you could F up a steel ball." Or on occasion, someone like me, who will try working on anything will mess it up.

Use masking tape and measure and lineup before you drill. Easy to do, just be careful with the drill!

You don't say what rack you plan on getting. But if you think you might want to add the color matched tour pack spoiler be aware that that also affects the placement of the rack.
And as I recall that useless template does have different hole options. If getting the Air Wing rack forget the above.

Just curious.
Well a lot of things, Lets see I wire houses for electrical, hotels for internet, PPV and SATV sytems. I rebuild engines in cars and trucks. I install sprinkler systems etc etc

Now as far as Harley's go, I have done Brakes, lights, radios, amps, gauges, starters, belts,
batteries, pipes, race tuners plugs and all the oil changes.

So just because I paid $50.00 bucks to not take the chance of screwing up the $800.00 tour pak I have to hear about it. Hey at least I wasman enough to admit it.

I guess you have not ever paid a dealer any money... right

I wish my dealer would do it for $50... they quoted me $100 - $125! So, for that price, I'm definitely doing it on my own. Measuring many times BEFORE the beer starts going down!

many here have had dealerships screw up the location then have to deal with them trying cheep fixes on pluggung out of place holes, do it yourself.i went as far as marking all 4 on painters tape drilling one putting in bolt, then checking the other 3 just to make sure the bit didnt walk.
