Hello to all, Just upgraded to an Ultra, my question is, the Ultra does not come with a Luggage rack, when you purchase a luggage rack does it come with a template that shows where to drill the holes? Thanks to all in advance.
I believe it does....But i never used it!!!..Most Dont!!Not trying to be an a$$ But did you try search there is alot of info on this as we all have had the same issue...Sorry i cant show you a link as im COMP. Ill-it-er-it and can only do one thing at a time!!! Good Luck!!!!
In addition to measuring and making sure before drilling holes, I suggest you use masking tape and make all of your marks on the tape. You can then re-measure and actually put the rack on the marks to make sure everything lines up properly. Drill the holes right through the tape, then remove the tape and install the rack. I've mounted a few this way for friends and have not had any problems
Just eye-ball it. Way easier than trying to use their bad template. Use that blue painters tape on the lid, line it up several times, mark it, look again and then drill it. Really kinda simple, don't sweat it. Good luck and congrats on the new Ultra. You're gonna love it. Ride safe.
Yes it does and it is fairly easy to do, if you look on Zanottis website they have a package deal that comes with the rack, tourpack organiser, driver backrest and the 3 pocket windshield organiser.
Take some blue painters tape and cover well past teh areas you will be drilling. Set the rack in place, and measure to insure its centered. Stand back and LOOK at it from different angles to double check its looks. Adjust as needed, draw a mark around each of the 4 legs, remove rack, drill with the CORRRECT sized bit. Drill slowly so it doesn't walk on you. Remove tape, install rack makingsure to put some silicon on the inside of the tour pack around each bolt to seal out water. Thighten and your done.
