Default 1 month anniversary

Ok my relationship with my first harley is now 1 month old. The bike is going in for its first service next week (1600 km service) and I have only been happy with the bike.

The HD is a standard 09 FLHX street glide, no extra parts or new exhaust systems yet.

I sold my BMW 1150 gs adventure when I got the harley and have no regrets. The brakes are not as good on the HD as on the beemer, but BMW are also well known for the badass brakes they use on the bikes. Im not saying the brakes on the HD are bad, not at all, just not as good. The ABS on the HD really works well I think.

I am very satisfied with the HD. The cruise control and soundsystem are great to have :-)

One think I dont like so much is the way the bags open. Dont know if I do it wrong but I have to use both hands to open the lid on the bags and that to me seems outdated. Its the first bike I own with hard bags where I have to use both hands to open and close the lids... dont like that.

A part from that I really love the street glide.

After a month I now know what I really want for the bike to make it "better" for my use.

The detachable backrest, luggage rack and mount.
A softbag for the luggagerack/backrest.
Screaming eagle exhaust and airfilter kit. (want the bike to sound a little better)
Mayby a 6" windscreen instead for the standard 4", not sure about that pretty satisfied with the 4" one.

Question: how difficult is it to mount the backrest mount to he bike? Can it be done fairly easy without special tools?

Im looking forward to having hours for fun with this bike for the years to come.

And by the way, HD really makes you feel like you are part of a special family when you buy a new harley. Thats a first for me.

Congratulations to the new bike.
I'm having 35 years anniversary this year as a Harley rider/owner.

No it's not difficult to add the backrest. You can do it with standard tools.
If you change your exhaust and aircleaner you should take the bike to a Harleyshop and let them tune it for you. Otherwise it will run way to lean (gasoline-air mixture).

By the way, I also live in Sweden.
