Absolutely bone stock '09 RK here... No oil cooler. I'm running Mobile 1 and had no issues with pinging or excessive heat off the motor. The spark plugs look good also so I'm not worrying about it at this point. About 95% of my riding is on the open road at freeway speeds so that may be the deciding factor in my case.
thanks for the replies, i guess i wont worry about it. i do think that i will be adding a fuel management system soon though as well as a new air cleaner. i've pretty much set my mind on the ridemaxx for fuel i just cant decide on what to do about the a/c. i think im going to go with either a mo-flow or a hypercharger. any suggestions?
I would stay away from the Hypercharger. They look good but don't perform well.
You would be better off with the SE kit or the Doherty. Arlen Ness Big Sucker is ok too.
the proper oil cooler can't hurt a thing, and if you are planning on keeping your bike, I think it is a wise investment. Think about it, it is really just common sense.
Just got back from a trip to Texas last week, at 102 degrees outside and running 70-75 mph my bike was running about 250, I can live with that, normal temp I think is 210-230.

Well if my gauge is correct (replaced useless air temp gauge) mine was in the 240 - 250 range a couple of times on this last trip. Mine is getting a cooler this winter, just haven't decided which one yet. And yes, I have SERT, and use Redline 20w-60.
