Absolutely bone stock '09 RK here... No oil cooler. I'm running Mobile 1 and had no issues with pinging or excessive heat off the motor. The spark plugs look good also so I'm not worrying about it at this point. About 95% of my riding is on the open road at freeway speeds so that may be the deciding factor in my case.

I would stay away from the Hypercharger. They look good but don't perform well.

You would be better off with the SE kit or the Doherty. Arlen Ness Big Sucker is ok too.

a little advice, replace the dipstick with the stock one and just ride the hell out of your bike and enjoy it.

the proper oil cooler can't hurt a thing, and if you are planning on keeping your bike, I think it is a wise investment. Think about it, it is really just common sense.

Just got back from a trip to Texas last week, at 102 degrees outside and running 70-75 mph my bike was running about 250, I can live with that, normal temp I think is 210-230.

The ideal temp is 195F to 215F.

According to the owners manual for the 09 touring; normal operating temp is 230*. Anything less is a plus.

"Normal" isn't necessarily "best." I would view 230° as the highest I'd want to see.

Well if my gauge is correct (replaced useless air temp gauge) mine was in the 240 - 250 range a couple of times on this last trip. Mine is getting a cooler this winter, just haven't decided which one yet. And yes, I have SERT, and use Redline 20w-60.
