My Limited is the first ABS I have had. Not much experience in real life situations yet. I know that locking a motorcycle wheel is a bad thing and it is easy to do in the rain, not to mention when you really really really need to stop now, you have have a tendency to mash the brakes too hard.
Mt limited is my first as well..............Now how in the hell can I shut it off??? ABS SUX!!!!!
ok it was a saturday and me and my buddy took our bikes out both touring bikes ...he had abs and mine did not ...we went to a lonely country road...pavement was dry and clean and straight as an arrow for easy a 3/4 mile and i might add flat too. we both got side by side ..eac h in his own lane ....when we hit 70 we both did a qick stop as hard as we could......he trailed off immediantly and I kept going ....I stopped a whopping 45 feet further down the road....now my stop was a panic type stop because I knew I was beat right from the start and I didn't wanna look to bad....but I did.....I'll do the abs on my next bike ...I hate panic stops and he didn't even panic but I did.....
There are a few people here that think their better than ABS, and maybe under ideal conditions they MIGHT be, but I doubt it. It sounds like you ride 2 up with your wife at times, as I do. If there's a chance that ABS may save me and my wife from sliding on pavement, i'll take it.
You can't practice for a REAL Panic situation.
I think monkeyman has the best argument about to abs or don`t "You can't practice for a REAL Panic situation"
