There is no such thing as an "A", It's a TC88, or a TC88B, which is the counterbalanced engine.

Scout,

Actually, the TC88 is also called TC88A. The B model is counterbalanced, but it does not stand for balance.

I have never seen "A" anywhere in any HD literature or specs. The only place I have ever seen the TC88 listed as an "A' is on a thread, or somewhere not affilliated with HD. I was corrected about the "A" term by a HD employee way back.

If I am wrong please show me, and I will have something to prove him wrong about. He's alway's correcting me

The touring bikes and dyna's have "A" motors......unbalanced and shake at idle, smooth at hwy speed.

The softtails have "B" motors.....counterbalanced and smooth at idle, but buzz at hwy speeds.
