How much does a 5 gallon tank hold?

How much does a 5 gallon tank hold?
No this ain't a stupid question because i put 5.3 gallons in my 07 Road Glide with a 5 gallon tank. I was coming across a section of country highway on the 4th of July and the gas stations were all closed. I was sure i'd run out of gas before i made it to the one that was open but it was still going. 5.3 gallons. I had to have been running on fumes. Anyone else run one this low or did i set the record?

I have put in 5.2 a few times, and just last week I sputtered into the gas station and put in 5.3 gallons. I don't think it will do much more then 5.3..........or at least I wouldn't want to find out.

I have been close to that, I think it depends on how full you get it, 5 gallons is to the bottom of the fill hole isn't it? If the bike is upright you can get a little bit more in it as well.
