I loved my Ducati but I really didn't ride it anymore. I settled on a Road King Classic because I love the classic looks and I wanted something good for around town and also for long distances. I'm looking forward to riding in comfort for a change ;-)
I've never ridden this type of bike so I was scared sh*tless at the prospect of riding this thing home after I bought it. It turns out it's relatively easy to ride for being so freaking gigantic.
First mod is definitely going to be pipes. Then probably some sort of backrest on the passenger seat so my 9yo son will ride with me. The backrest is his idea and he insists. He's afraid of falling off the back ;-)
Congrats! Nice Ride. That is more of a transition than my ZRX1200 to my Roadie.
Still have the ZRX for when I feel the need but that is few and far between.

Yeah, I hated to get rid of the Ducati but it just sits in the garage these days. I moved to Plano, TX from Southern CA a couple of years ago. In Socal I had mountains 10 minutes from my house. Here, not so much.
There may be some sort of curvy roads in my area but the Duc is too painful to ride any long distances to wherever they are.
It's time to go in a different direction. I'm looking forward to it.
Congrats as well.Purchased my 03 RK Classic last fall.Having my first season on it!
Love it...Lot more comfort than my other ride which is a classic Triumph 750cc.The weight quickly became a non event....although reverse would be nice!
Also had our first trip, to the HOG rally in Barrie,Ontario and got mostly good reports from the spousal passenger.
