Default Heritage softail classic or Electra glide standard

Newbie here, just joined a few days ago. Have a 2009 Super glide, looking to move up and the dealer has a few 2009's left, says he will deal on. Thinking on a Heritage softail classic or and Electra glide standard, both vivid black. I like the Heritage but have heard 2 up riding sometimes bottoms out supension, any truth to that. About 50/50 split time on solo riding and 2 up riding, I like the Super glide for solo, but not that great for 2 up. Any suggestions.......

Wife and I rode a Heritage two up for 7 years and never bottomed it out.
Have a '07 Ultra Classic now, my opinion is go with the Electra Glide Standard. You'll love the full fairing and hard bags. Just my 2 cents

I agree with bikerdad. My wife and I rode a heritage 2 up for 3 years. I loved the bike, never had any suspension issues.

We now have a street glide and I like it even more than I did the heritage. I will never consider anything out of the touring family again.

I like the fairing, and cast wheels with tubless tires, on the E Glide. Also the seat on the Standard was new for 09 and is one of the few stock seats I really like. Plus the Standard will be a collectors item since they aren't making them anymore .

Thanks for the info, I can get the Electra glide standard less $$ then the Heritage, the dealer has come down $1000 and may possiblly come some more just in conversation. I'm going there later today to look again and probably test ride.

The Electra glide std, is vivid black and has cruise. I just want to add detachable hardware and back rest for now, and customize later.

Already having cruise on it is a big plus! Let us know what you think after the test ride.

The dealer also has a few Road king classic left, might just ride that also. He has offered to let me test ride the Heritage, Electra glide and Road King, then I can compare.

The cruise really works well. I just returned from a week ride out thru Nebraska, Wyoming, and Montana. It was *so* nice setting the cruise on 75mph and just letting it roll down the road. Also it used to be a more cumbersome proceedure, but now the docking hardware bolts right on the 09's, takes maybe 10 minutes. HD also sells neat little chrome covers that slip over the exposed docking points.

The '09 Electra Glide with the cruise will walk all over the Heritage.

Trust me I have had them both. The Glide will serve you well
