Default Tire replacement question?

Can I put a Rear Elite 3 MT90HB-16 Blackwall Tire on my 2001 E-Glide with the standard Dunlope on the front or is it unsafe to mix tires?

I have mixed tires over the years and never thought it caused me any problems. The experts will most likely tell ya not to do it though.

It will be fine unless you want to road race your bike. Even then, the brand and model of tire wouldn't concern me as much as they are the same type of compounds so the grip is the same.

This is exactly what I did on my 07 Road King and just returned from a 2500 mile road trip through the mountains and deserts of New Mexico and western Colorado with no problems and the bike handled fine. Dunlop D402 in front and Dunlop Elite 3 MU90HB-16 on the rear.

I ran an Avon on the back and a Dunlop on the front on my 01. No issues.

You can do it with no problems. I like having the same tires front and rear on my bike so I changed out both even though they didn't need it.

I am riding that set up now. I just did almost 2,000 miles on twisty roads in the Smokies and didn't have any problem on dry or wet pavement.
