Bike Shut Off

Coming up an on-ramp to the freeway tonight I grabbed a big handful of throttle as the ramp is short and the traffic is always moving fast. Pretty sure I hit the rev limiter but the yellow engine light came on and the engine died like I turned off the ignition. Had to coast right off the highway onto the berm. Engine never came back online even though it was still in gear and turning over. Wouldn't even crank until I turned off the kill switch and flipped it back to run. Fired up normally and ran fine afterwards. Any ideas? Bike is an '08 Ultra with PC V and SE AC. I've hit rev limiters on other vehicles before, but never had one die completely like this. Lucky there was a place to coast off the highway at all. Otherwise would have gotten run over from behind. Anyone ever had a similar experience? Or am I just missing something?

Ck the main CB in front of the BAt. its very cheap and a easy fix if thats it. It was my problem once, bike use to shut off a lot changed the breaker and works fine now.

YES, change the main circuit breaker!------ Had that same thing happen on two different Ultras.

My 08 ultra shut off on me, gauges went dead, but engine idled like it was jump starting itself. Mine is a faulty ignition switch which is being replaced under warranty.
