Default Michelin Tires?

I know the EIII's are the big hit on here but was curious if anyone has any experience with the Michelin Commander MU85B16?

I have run the MT90-16's on my Ultra. I liked the tires and the ride is great. I'll list my pro's and con's.

Pro's
1. Price compared to stockers.
2. Ride is smoother than other brands.
3. Handles wet roads well. Also grooved pavement and tar snakes.
4. Wear better than stock tires.

Con's
1. Sidewalls aren't as stiff as Dunlop's.
2. Would like to see a bit more mileage from them to compete with the E3 Dunlop's.
3. Front and rear tire wear about the same rate. You won't get much more out of the front after the rear is worn out.

Overall I think the Michelin Commander is a very good tire for stock replacement. My ultimate choice though is the Dunlop E3's.

I agree with papamte with all except the front tire wear. I got the same mileage out of the Michelin commander on the front as I did the stock Dunlap. The first two I put on the rear had the same mileage as I am used to getting, but the third one went 2,000 miles more than I usually get out of a rear tire.

I like the grip they give, price is comparable and mileage is equal to or greater than stock tires for me.

my dealer stocks nothing but stock tires. They had to order the commanders for me and I asked them last week if they had sold any E-3's yet and they have never heard of them. Of course, they had never heard of the commanders either until I had them order them for me.

Commander was probably the quietest tire i had on my EG classic It was a MT90B16 and the tread is not as deep as the MU85B16 so it didn't last as long as i would've liked but it was very smooth.
