Dunlop has improved the tread compound for the Touring tires.....said to get up to 30% longer wear. Used to be 10K for a rear tire was average and 25K for a front.....providing one checked pressures often. I replaced my rear tire at 12,000 miles....before I really needed to....not one to take chances. Still have the original front tire and have just under 20,000 on it.......and it has plenty of useable life to go. A good rule of thumb is 2 rears for one front....but a lot depends on how you ride and how many actual ROAD miles versus street miles you rack up. In short, you can expect to get 13K on the rear and 26K on the front if you keep an eye on the pressures.

I just replaced the rear tire on my '05 EG Classic with over 11,000 on it. The tire still had some miles in it but we are leaving for a long trip soon and it didn't have that much tread left.

Regards,

Bill

Most of my riding is on winding mountain roads. I live in the hills.

I got 8,000 on the origional rear and now have 14,000 on the origional front. Will probably replace the front before jy trips this summer.
