This forum has always been where I look to for lifesaving medical opinions and advice. Can I thicken my blood with Amzoil?

I am a PA and have been practicing for 15 years. Mostly ER experience. Dont know why for 3 weeks only. Doesnt make sense unless it is for cardioversion for atrial fibrillation. There have been many good inputs here. Having an ID bracelet makes good sense. You could just as easily fall and break a hip and bleed from that or walk across the street and get hit, or even be involved in a car accident. All, what if's. Head protection is a must. Simple head bump could become a major event. Good luck with you decision. I would talk with you doctor with your questions.

Well I wouldn't go to a medical forum and ask Harley advice

Yes you could thicken your blood with Amzoil , but you would bleed out quicker if you got cut because it would be slicker.

I too am on the drug. Wear a helmet and maybe some
Protective clothing. Will help if you go down. Jeans won't help
Have fun and stay safe.

I'm on coumadin and wouldn't even think about quitting riding because of it. I put the comments about you listening to your professional....in the BS column. 30 years ago Dr. were like a god, times have changed. My personal opinion is "we" have gotten smarter. I listened to my Dr. about the blood thinner, did my home work, e.g. researched the drug myself, and made my own decision.

Seems like there are plenty of people taking Coumadin and riding (and posting). What does that tell you?

It tells me the ones who crashed bled out and are lying in a sticky puddle of blood by the side of the road just wishing they could reply to this thread.

Seriously it's all about acceptable levels of risk. So the OP's risk meter just clicked up a notch. Personally, I would keep riding, but wouldn't tell someone else to. Like Lincoln said, "And in the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years."

I guess you missed the point that this has to do with the risk of riding a bike while taking Coumandin. Is it that hard for you to see the connection?
